By Jon Lunceford In the post-CGS world, most players have decided to hop back on Counter-Strike 1.6 now that there is not as much support for the less popular Counter-Strike Source. With CS:S not being a major factor anymore, the game that everyone wanted to play, 1.6, is back on top. A new era of Counter-Strike is about to emerge, and yet again, there has been a major team change as MoB grabs some of the top CGS pro players to add to its roster. MoB Gaming is excited to announce its new and improved roster for Counter-Strike 1.6 for the 2009 season: Noah "StrikeR" Alvarado
Cyrus "org" Habibi
Albert "hahN" Hahn
Jimmy "foogz" Koller
Hoang "s0nNy" Tran Reserves: Joseph "Perez" Perez
Ryan "Phamtastic" Pham
Matt "Lim" Beahan The new line-up features two former Carolina Core players in Cyrus "org" Habibi and Hoang "s0nNy" Tran. I talked to them about how they felt after they received the call that the CGS was going down. "I actually wanted to play at least one more season of CGS," Tran said, "so I was really disappointed when Dolven called me up and gave me the news." When I asked Habibi about his thoughts on switching to his old 1.6 team from Source, he had this to say, "Are we ready? Yes. In winning form? Not yet. It'll definitely take some time, but I wouldn't be playing if I didn't truly believe we could dominate the rankings." Also joining the team is Jimmy "foogz" Fogle. "For me, the CGS dying basically re-invented my CS career," Fogle said, "I had basically moved on from gaming in both mind and spirit knowing that the future was Source and CGS." The lone remaining team member of the original MoB Gaming team, Noah "StrikeR" Alvarado, had this to say about his new teammates, "I feel confident that this team will be one of the top teams not only in the US but internationally as well." This team brings in a new look to MoB's Counter-Strike scene as StrikeR brings his old team back together again. Time will tell whether this old team's chemistry will be a deciding factor or not. Although no major LAN events have been announced, the team is already hard at work preparing for the tasks that lie ahead. MoB Godfather had this to say, "I am very excited about what the 2009 eSports season holds for MoB Gaming and this new Counter-Strike team is a great addition to our Pro Gaming Family. Counter-Strike 1.6 is back, and with the closing of CGS I can only hope the USA teams will start to bring wins on a global market." For more info, visit MoBDeep.net.
